Our history in Canada
In 1993, Liberty International opened for business in Toronto with a focus on specialty and large, complex commercial risks. A few years later, the company changed its name to Liberty International Underwriters (LIU Canada) and, over the next 30 years, grew considerably and expanded its operations across the country.
In 2017, Liberty Mutual Insurance purchased Ironshore. The following year, LIU Canada and Ironshore Canada aligned operations, rebranding as Liberty Mutual Canada.
Today, Liberty Mutual Canada services its clients coast-to-coast from our offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal, and Halifax.
