By supporting some of our most vulnerable neighbours, we’re creating positive change in the communities in which we live and work. There are three ways that we do this: our corporate philanthropy, Serve with Liberty,
and Give with Liberty.
Through our philanthropic efforts, we strive to give nonprofit organizations the flexibility they need to change and improve the lives of vulnerable members of our community. We invest in accessibility for individuals of all abilities; we increase security for homeless men, women, and children; and we promote academic opportunity for underprivileged youth.
We do not fund organizations that deny services to a potential client or beneficiary on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, political affiliation, or national origin.
Every year, Liberty Mutual Insurance runs an enterprise-wide day of community service, held during the first two weeks of May. In 2018, 26,949 employees across Liberty Mutual served 1,284 nonprofits. This program is a key component of Liberty Torchbearers, Liberty Mutual Insurance employees’ community of caring.

Our charitable-giving program, Give with Liberty, runs across Canada and the U.S. This makes it easy for our employees to contribute to qualifying social service charities of their choice through online pledging and payroll deduction. Liberty Mutual proudly matches 50 cents on every dollar that employees donate, making our impact on our communities even greater.
In 2018 alone, our employees raised $15.5M (including company match), supporting 7,808 charities, with the average employee gift totaling $510.
